Laminating

     East Coast Laminating was one of the first companies on the east coast to bond high pressure laminate to a substrate. Using PVA glue, PVC glue, pressure-sensitive glue, contact cement, epoxy and urethane, we are often able to accommodate our customers' application needs. We handle all types of veneers and plastic laminates including Formica, Wilsonart and Nevamar. We also handle a variety of substrates including MDF, particle board, plywood (veneer core), balsa, bamboo, composites and Masonite. With our heated press we are able to laminate a wide range of material from small to large.

Edge Banding / Cut to Size

     With our investment in a Schelling CNC panel saw, we are able to cut to size multiple thicknesses of material up to 3" thick and up to 12' long. Our edgebander is capable of handling edge banding widths from 1/2mm PVC to 3/4" x 2" solid wood. With our combination of cut to size and edge banding, we are able to manufacture a variety of ready-to-assemble pieces including shelving and cabinet parts.

Scarfing

     The largest length of plywood available from manufacturers is 10 feet. Unfortunately, many applications require lengths greater than 10' to complete tasks. To solve this problem, we scarf sections of plywood to create longer lengths. We are able to produce pieces of plywood with lengths 12' and larger. The finished piece is nearly seamless and is as strong as the original board. We use a west system epoxy rather than a regular PVA glue to secure the bond.

Woodworking

     Our custom woodworking (architectural millwork) shop is able to utilize a customer's personal ideas and shape them into reality. We have manufactured pieces for all types of commercial, institutional and residential applications. This includes custom furniture, mantels, entertainment centers, kitchen cabinets, island units, entry ways, bathroom vanities, desks, sales counters (stores), doors (door jambs, raised panel, etc.), drawer fronts, balusters (balustrades), columns, benches and bowls. We have also done restoration work for churches, houses and schools, which includes restoration work for Victorian houses on the east side of Providence, RI.

     Our custom woodworking (architectural millwork) shop is not only notorious for the cabinetry we produce, but also the wood turnings, columns, rosettes, dowels, finials, carvings, bases, (crown and curved) moldings, pedestals, newel posts, railings, capitols, pillars and more. Our wide range of experience leaves nothing to the imagination. If you can think it, we can work with you to make it.

Marine Applications

     The owner of the company, Kenneth B. White II, has been an avid sailor for many years. His knowledge of marine conditions and requirements led us to develop and manufacture custom products for boat builders (sail boats, ships and yachts). This includes several types of lightweight laminated composites using materials like tricel honeycomb, balsa, foam and cork. We have also built custom parts such as lightweight cabinets and bulkheads. Our more prominent boat product is our Teak and Basswood decking (cabin sole). We use 1/8" thick solid Teak and Basswood laminated to marine grade plywood. Our product is superior to many sole materials due to its thickness and durability. We are able to produce this decking in a variety of sizes and thicknesses.
